Gabriella Stec, M.A. (she/her/hers) ~ Doctoral Therapy Extern

Beginning therapy can come with uncertainty, and that's completely normal. My goal is to meet you where you are with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment so that together, we can ease that uncertainty and create a therapeutic space that feels safe, grounded, and meaningful to you.

I'm currently a third-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Psy.D. program at Adler University in Chicago. Most of my clinical training has taken place in inpatient settings, where I provided trauma-informed care and worked closely with individuals navigating complex trauma. I've facilitated therapy groups focused on grief, relationships, and emotional regulation, and I also have experience in outpatient clinics and in-home therapy with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum.

I've had the privilege of supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, bipolar disorder, body dysmorphia, PTSD, and chronic health conditions. These experiences have reinforced my belief that therapy should be collaborative and responsive, never one-size-fits-all. My approach is holistic, and I prioritize building a space where you feel safe, heard, and seen. I draw primarily from Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered approaches, but I always adapt my techniques to fit your needs, values, and cultural background.

I'm especially passionate about creating a space where all identities feel respected, affirmed, and supported. As a queer person myself, I'm committed to honoring LGBTQ+ identities and any other identities you may bring to sessions. I also have a strong interest in supporting individuals living with chronic illness, chronic pain, or complex medical conditions, as I believe deeply in the healing power of feeling seen and understood in both the mind and the body.

Whether you're navigating a major life change, living with emotional or physical pain, or simply seeking clarity and growth, therapy can be a place of healing where your resilience and strength come forward. I'd be honored to support and walk alongside you as you uncover your strongest, most authentic self.
