Dr. Jenny Sokolowski, Psy.D. (she/her) ~ Director of Testing

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and the Director of Testing here at HumanKind Psych. I provide psychological testing for ADHD in adult populations. Many adults endure the challenges of unrecognized and untreated ADHD, often masked by their own coping strategies or a lack of early recognition. I am here to provide the clarity you seek, using empirically validated tools to determine an accurate diagnosis and giving you tailored treatment options. I am dedicated to assisting you in recognizing your unique strengths and areas primed for growth.

I also provide individual therapy for adults. In my approach to therapy, I believe that the only way out is through. Just like quicksand, if you struggle, you sink. Once you stop running, you float. My goal as a therapist is to provide an environment of warmth and trust to help you confront and challenge areas that create suffering, so you too can float. I know that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors can be quite painful. But I am here to let you know that you are so, so much more than these things and that you have the strength to overcome them.

Treatment is never cookie cutter with me.  I will provide you with what you need— perhaps, that’s processing your adverse childhood experiences, learning how to increase comfort around food, or fostering tools to help you create new ways of thinking and experiencing the world. My primary therapeutic approaches are Relational, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Although, I always utilize a trauma-informed lens. I recognize that many groups of people have encountered various forms of oppression and openly discuss these issues within the therapeutic space. I am also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, which influenced my anti-diet stance and belief in body inclusivity. I hope to help you make peace with food and your body.

I am passionate about working with adults with anxiety, eating and body concerns, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. I completed my doctoral internship at an APA-accredited site where I gained specialized skills working with adolescents and their families. Prior to this, my training experiences have allowed me the privilege to work with diverse groups of people in a multitude of settings, including inpatient hospitals and private practices.

I am happiest when I am in nature and the sun. I enjoy hiking, running, and biking, but also love to watch Netflix and horror movies. Balance is key in my life. Baking brings me joy and my favorite recipe is my thick chocolate chip cookies. Lemon bars are good too.
